Cool-climate wines from Northumberland.

Planted beside the Catch Burn, we are growing modern grape varieties carefully chosen for our climate — with our first wines planned for 2028.

Discover Catchburn

The Vineyard

We are a small, family-run vineyard located just outside Morpeth in Northumberland. Our 1.5-acre site slopes gently south towards the Catch Burn.

We planted our first vines in 2024, including the varieties Solaris and Muscaris, chosen to suit our climate and make fresh, aromatic, easy-drinking wines.

Still in their infancy, the vines produced their first, small crop in 2026, which fully ripened for sparkling or still wines.

We hope to have our first full harvest in 2027 and our first wines released in 2028.

Our grapes

Naturally resilient and distinctive.

Solaris and Muscaris are modern grape varieties that are able to be made into refreshing, interesting wines of all kinds of styles, from sparkling to still and even dessert wines. Both have been made into wines that have won national and international awards.

Both varieties ripen relatively early and bring naturally expressive fruit and aromas.

They are also bred with strong resistance to the diseases that affect older varieties, helping us to make the vineyard more sustainable, working with nature rather than against it.

Solaris

Solaris is early-ripening and capable of building sugar reliably in a cool climate. It is a crossing of a number of varieties, including Riesling, Pinot Gris and Muscat. We aim to make dry still white and aromatic sparkling wine, with clean, fruit-led winemaking in stainless steel.

Wines made from Solaris can produce wines with flavours and aromas ranging from citrus, green apple and elderflower, through to stone fruits or even tropical fruit.

Muscaris

Another favourite of northern vineyards, Muscaris brings an expressive, Muscat-like side of the vineyard. Still, off-dry and lightly sparkling or frizzante styles are all possibilities that we are hoping to achieve.

Muscaris wines have been known to produce flavours and aromas including lychee, peach, pear, nutmeg and orange blossom.

Our wines

We hope to take our first harvest in 2027, meaning there won’t be any wines for sale until 2028. Until then, we are growing, measuring, tasting and experimenting. Watch this space…
